It is common for you as a pregnant woman to have your regular examinations and consultation with your midwife and doctor.
The aim of these is to follow and supervise the physiological pregnancy and, in case of irregularity, this to identify and to treat it good and on time.
Preventive care includes blood tests, urine and blood pressure measurements and hearing the child’s heartbeat. With your consent, the doctor will do three ultrasound scans.
Preventive care also includes discussions and advice on various topics such as nutrition and exercise during pregnancy. Also to help you with complaints such as nausea and back pain, and answering your questions about the preparation for the birth.
As women, you have the right to choose where you want to do the preventive care: With the midwife, with the doctor, alternately or simple, just as you want.
A condition for me to accompany you after the birth is for us to have a first meeting to get to know each other, after that at least three times during the pregnancy, regardless of where you have decided to do the preventive care. These are very important to me in order to look after you professionally. I would also like to build a trusting and communicative relationship with you. The idea behind this is that I don’t want to look after strangers and you don’t want to be looked after by a midwife that you don’t really know.
I currently don’t offer preparation courses. To do this, please inform yourself in the clinics, birth centers and other midwives.
